- Merodochbaladan
- King of Babylonia, 721–710 BCE, who sent diplomats to Hezekiah of Judah in the hope of securing support against the ruler of Assyria who had overthrown the Babylonian allies in 710 (2 Kgs. 20:12–19). The embassy probably came to Jerusalem in 705, which was the year when Sennacherib succeeded Sargon on the Assyrian throne.
